So being an art student I look around at my fellow art students and see how I differ from the majority. I do NOT have a trendy hair cut and/or have a wicked dye job. I prefer my clothes to be free of paint and other art supplies. I am tattoo-less. I do not know how to knit my own beanie or scarf. Nor do i wear such things when the weather doesn't call for it. I prefer my musicians to have some tonal range and have the ability to actual play their instruments. I don't use pompous terms when I am discussing art. Don't get me wrong I love art but there is no reason to use terms to make other people think you are highly intelligent. Kaldi's is good for coffee and sandwiches but for general hang out purposes it is not my number 1. I do not feel like every picture and every art piece is a part of my soul. Nor do i think everything needs an artist statement. Art is for interpretation not for me to tell you what you are looking at. If you see a cat riding a bicycle then it is a cat riding a bicycle, you do not need me to tell you that the cat represents my angst and the bike is america.
So looking at fellow students this rant came to be...so maybe with that I'm not an artist, just a person trapped in art classes
